Conditional Removal

When couples attend the interview for Permanent Residence, the duration of the marriage plays a huge role. For any couple who have been married less than 2 full years, likely a conditional permanent resident card will be issued. Toward the end of the 2 years, the applicant must file additional documents to remove the condition and become a full Permanent Resident. This additional time will allow the resident to file for Citizenship through Naturalization at the appropriate time. Permanent Residents who have been issued a ten year residence can skip this step completely.
